This full coverage soft bra is crafted from leather, a relatively unconventional fabric for underwear. The body of the garment is constructed of a soft cow hide, with a hand cut and tooled vegetable-tanned leather overbust overlay. Red satin is used as an inlay for the tooled leather detailing, with piping over the cup seams. Adjustable satin elastic strapping forms the shoulder straps and back fastening.
Cristiane Tano is a Brazil based designer specialising in leatherwork, fashioning unique pieces with a focus on craftsmanship and aesthetic refinement. The designs are characterised by their contrast between unexpected design elements and materials. The designer’s label operated between 2011-2017, closing to focus on other creative ventures.
