Black Satin Bustier By Christian Dior

Black Satin Bustier By Christian Dior, c. 1990s, France. The Underpinnings Museum. Photography by Tigz Rice.

Date: c. 1990s

Origin: France

Fabric: Polyamide-elastane blend satin

Brand: Christian Dior

A satin bustier with ruched bow detailing across the bustline, supported with polymer bones at each seamline and fastening with hooks and eyes at the centre back. Silicone coated elastic trims the neck edge of the garment, helping the garment to stay in place on the body. The style is similar in its style lines to the cathedral bra shape that was popularized in the 1950s, but offers a more rounded silhouette to the bustline.
