An overbust corset with a dramatically curvy silhouette. The striking neckline, reminiscent of John Singer Sargent’s infamous portrait of Madame X, has become a recognizable signature detail in Pop Antique’s overbust corset designs. The dramatic plunge showcases décolletage without flatting the curve of the breasts, with the challenging patterning calling for several fittings. In this bespoke example of the style, the construction of the corset itself is quite light and flexible. Single layer spot broché coutil molds around the body and nips in at the waist. The hipline is accented by a peplum flounce of featuring bright gold dots of metallic foil. The corset is structured with a mix of spiral and flat steel bones. The front closure uses an inverted busk for the illusion of a closed front corset.
