The first ‘String’ collection by Made By Niki was released in 2011, and quickly became a brand signature. The designs are centred around acetate fringe that drapes around the body, selectively revealing and concealing the skin beneath and creating a uniquely tactile wearing experience. This bra and suspender were part of this first collection, which also contained a skirt and bodysuit, and an alternative black colourway. The range was hand made in the brand’s Market Harborough studio. Draped fringe quickly became a staple design detail in future collections, reappearing in numerous new colourways and silhouettes.
Made By Niki was founded in 2006 by designer Niki McMorrough after studying Contour Fashion at De Montfort University. The brand won numerous industry awards and became renowned for its innovative approach to lingerie design. The label was retired in 2016 for McMorrough to pursue other career opportunities.
