A chemise crafted from a fine and lightweight cotton lawn. An intricately embellished neckline reveals a fine lace trim with a zigzag scalloped edge, finishing the neckline and used as insertion lace appliqué. Intricate drawn thread embroidery is worked in crescent moon and star patterns, framed by floral Valenciennes insertion lace appliqué motifs. Luxurious silk satin ribbon bow shoulder straps are threaded through hand worked loops.

Silk satin ribbon is threaded through a drawstring channel below the neckline. The cotton body of the chemise is delicately pleated, and the rear is cut with a kickpleat at the waist. The hem finished by a row of delicate pintucks. Just below the hem, the lace trimmed cuffs and bow trims of the coordinating open drawers can be seen.
